Latvian Independence Day

Latvia, a country in Northern Europe, received its independence from the Russian Empire on 18 November 1918. On this day the People’s Soviet of Latvia proclaimed the creation of the Latvian Republic as an independent state formally finalising the formation of Latvian nationhood. Currently, it is a parliamentary republic.
