“International Physicians for Peace” - is an international day, which was proclaimed by the “International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War” organization. It is celebrated on the anniversary of the terrible tragedy - Atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 6, 1945. This day serves as a sorrowful reminder of this human tragedy and the role physicians play in the struggle for peace and preventing the war in general. The organization celebrates that day with their routine work. The “International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War” organization was founded in 1980 in France as a result of separation from other well-known international organization “Doctors Without Borders”. Since then, the major subsidiaries of the “Doctors of the World” appeared in many countries around the world. Today this movement unites more than 200 thousand doctors, and the number of its followers continues to grow.
