Human Rights Day

10
December 2020
Human Rights Day was officially established on 10 December 1950 by a Plenary Session of the UN General Assembly. The date 10 December was selected to commemorate the UN General Assembly adopting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on 10 December 1948. This Declaration, passed right after the horrific WW2 violated all possible human rights including the right to life for millions of people, became the first world document containing human rights provisions. They include a wide range of political, civil, social, cultural and economic rights.
