World Water Day

March 2020
Humanity needs water. A drop of water has strength, everyone needs it. Although 70% of the Earth’s landmass is covered with water, 97,5% of this amount is salted water. The remaining 2,5% of fresh water, almost 68,7% is the frozen water of icecaps and glaciers. Only one percent of the whole volume of the planet’s water resources is available for use. In the 20th century, the level of water consumption increased six fold, outpacing population growth by 2 times in developing countries. In developed countries, up to 30% of fresh water are lost to leaks, with some cities’ losses amounting to 70%.
