World Water Day

Humanity needs water. A drop of water has strength, everyone needs it. Although 70% of the Earth’s landmass is covered with water, 97,5% of this amount is salted water. The remaining 2,5% of fresh water, almost 68,7% is the frozen water of icecaps and glaciers. Only one percent of the whole volume of the planet’s water resources is available for use. In the 20^th century, the level of water consumption increased six fold, outpacing population growth by 2 times in developing countries. In developed countries, up to 30% of fresh water are lost to leaks, with some cities’ losses amounting to 70%.
