Werner von Siemens (13.12.1816 – 06.12.1892) was a German engineer, scientist, industrialist, who developed the Siemens brand. He started with inventing a dynamo machine in 1867. The Siemens Company was the first to produce telephone receivers, electric railway, an electrical lift, and a Berlin tramway line. Siemens set up a Berlin Electrotechnical Union and the Patent Society, and in 1882 he was elected a Corresponding Member of the St Petersburg Academy of Science and was granted a noble title in 1888.
