International Translator’s Day

The professional translator’s day was not launched until 1991 when the International Federation of Translators (International F?d?ration Internationale des Traducteurs, FIT) chose 30 September for this important event. FIT was set up in Paris in 1953; and currently, it includes over 100 translator associations from over 60 countries worldwide. Its main goal is to exchange experience, useful information and strengthening ties between national organizations working in the interests of translators and translation as a profession and an art.
